12 Days of Christmas Contest

PERFECT
First off, I celebrate Christmas. Please don't be offended by that. I love my Jewish friends and my Muslim friends and my Buddist, Wiccan, Hindu, other, questioning and non-believer friends, alike! But I like the idea of the 12 Days of Christmas, and this is my contest, so there it is. Here's how it will work. For the next 12 days, I'll post a Hopkins' books trivia question. You'll have 24 hours to answer it, and those who do correctly will go into a random drawing for books, CRANK t-shirts, posters, pictures and other Hopkins swag (YES I SAID SWAG!).

The questions will get harder each day, so we'll go backward. Day one, 12 winners. Day two, eleven winners. Etc. Doesn't this sound fun? I'll post the first question tomorrow (Monday, 12/10) morning, no later than 8 a.m. Pacific. Time's up for answers when I post question two. I need from you, on every entry: Your name, email, and mailing address. Plus the correct answer, of course. In the subject line of your email, I need the Question #. So "Day One Question" or "Day Two Question." Please email to ellen_hopkins2@yahoo.com

Best of luck. I promise to be creative!
Ellen

I just wanted to say, you should not have to apologize for liking Christmas. I am not religious at all, but I think everyone should have the choice to celebrate and believe whatever the hell they want, and they should never ever have to apologize or explain themselves for what makes them happy. So please don't apologize!

I agree!
However, you'd be surprised the things people are offended by. Believe me. I know! But thanks for your comment. And I LOVE Christmas.

I agree with Nicky! I am so sad that you felt you had to apologize for celebrating Christmas. But you know what? I've been dealing with that very same thing in my own life lately. People just being straight up ANGRY that it's the Christmas season and taking it out on the people who love/celebrate it.

Your contest sounds so much fun! I'll try to enter when I can. It's been years since I've read some of your books so I don't know if my memory will serve me well. That may be an excuse for me to read them again! :)

Don't be sorry.
I find people in general get offended by so much these days. I also find many non-religious people celebrate Christmas as well and I see nothing wrong with that. How could someone be offended by another reason to have family and friends together!

I hate that you have to apologize for celebrating Christmas. I wish people would not get offend and if anyone tells them Merry Christmas answer by simply saying Happy Hanukkah or Happy Kwanzaa, whatever they may celebrate and be happy that we are free to choose what we celebrate:]I'm so excited for this contest :]

Christmas pride
This sounds like a really fun contest. And I agree, if anyone acted offended with me about being wished a Merry Christmas I would simply ask them how they expect to be received in wishing someone a good day.

Thing is, I want everyone to have a nice day on December 25th (and any other day) whether they keep Christmas or not.
